The FC type fixed attenuator is a precision optical device with a fixed amount of attenuation. It reduces the optical power in a line by a pre-designed value, protecting the optical receiver from excessive input power while keeping additional loss low. Flange-type and male-female (yin-yang) versions are available in 3, 5, 7, 10 and 15 dB grades.
